"So what's plarn"?
Plarn
is an abbreviated name for plastic yarn, made by recycling plastic
grocery or garbage bags. These bags are cut together into loop strips
-- and knotted together. Or you can just cut them into one long
continuous strip. Then you wrap them up into a ball, much like
regular yarn. This yarn can be crocheted into a very sturdy and
reusable tote bag that can carry home a whole lot of groceries, and
you don't have to bring home any more plastic bags! Sounds
pretty good, huh?
Of course you don't just have to crochet
these bags, you can knit them together, or even macramé them together.
Don't know how to crochet or knit or macramé? Just take one of
my classes and I'll show you how to how to make all kinds of things,
including very durable sandals. Creativity is an unlimited resource of
the mind. So, give it a try!
